Film Review
Jhoom Barabar Jhoom
Desi Masala at the UK Station

All about twisting and shouting out aloud

Story & Director: Shaad Ali Sahgal
Producer: Aditya Chopra
Music: Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy
Lyrics: Gulzar
Abhishek Bachchan, Bobby Deol
Preity Zinta, Lara Dutta &
Amitabh Bachchan

A story with loud caracters like the protagonist, Abhishek B. aka Ricky Thukraal.

Its a simple tale of girl meeting boy and how it would look when two very unlikely people will fall in love due to everyday mundane circumstances like the train being late (its a regular feature here and I seem to have run out of my luck with the ladies).

Due to this Ricky a typically loud Bhatinda types (even his cell ringtone is lewd) is forced to wait with an uneaten sandwich roll and the propah Brit girl of paki origin Ms. Alvira Khan (preity Zinta) for company, after a few intrance of stray hate shown very unconvincingly, the two set talking about there supposed 'fiancees' whom they have come to receive.

If it happens like that every Tom dick & Harry will board the first flight of Air France to the Ritz Paris, and make freinds with the sexy and refreshing Anaida (Lara Dutta a huge improvement) and break into a dance literally at the drop of the hat (beautifully choreographed and grand use of cine canvas), and as for allo its superman forever, strangely they are focusing on the statue of batman in the kiss song between her and Stevey wonder (Bobby well restrained and convincing). Well there is 'Twist' in the tale around the half time with the unlikely fella very much in love and pehle aap sydrome and the Aao Twist karen finale.

Our own Big B is thrown in for good effect and to carry the story forward in exactly 5 instances with his very Brit dance troupe breaking into an impromptu jig whenever he appears in his what is known as cross dressing (NO DONT JUMP TO CONCLUSIONS!!!) a cross between the desi Banjara and a Brit vagabond at least the locale of the movie is kept in mind. Strictly to be seen by youngsters who should learn from what a tryer our bollywood badshah is and carry on so many uncovincing and inconsequential roles with elan . Rest of the acting is as follows.:
Abhishek-- loud and lewd.
Preity ---- pretty but unconvincing, NOW WHAT'S WITH THE MINIS PREITY?
LARA ---- fresh & sexy but it seems yashraj ran out of ideas on how to dress a former miss universe.
Bobby --- restrained
